Josh Billings Partners with Berkshire Humane Society
Thank you to the Josh Billings Runaground for helping raising money for Berkshire Humane Society once again this year through a virtual option! It’s only fitting as Josh Billings, a 19th century humorist who was born right here in Berkshire County in Lanesborough, famously said, “A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than you love yourself.”

This year the “Josh” returns to being a live event, but has retained a virtual option to show dogs and other pets a little love by donating a portion of registration fees to us if you choose Berkshire Humane Society as your benefitting charity.
All Virtual participants will receive a special 2021 Josh t-shirt. In addition to sheltering homeless animals for adoption, we have programs to help people in need keep their pets happy, healthy and in their homes. We also promote care, empathy and compassion for all animals through outreach and education.
We’re a private, non-profit, independent shelter that receives no government funding. We rely on donations to help animals in the Berkshires and the people who love them.
