50 percent off adoptions of adult animals continues
PITTSFIELD, November 4, 2024
For the month of November, Berkshire Humane Society will continue offering reductions or waivers of adoption fees to rehome companion animals housed at the Dr. John Reynolds Adoption and Education Center at 214 Barker Road in Pittsfield or Purradise Cat Adoption Center at 301 Stockbridge Road in Great Barrington.
November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month, so adoption fees are waived for all senior (at least seven years old) pets through November 30th. To honor those who have served our country, adoption fees of all animals are waived November 10th – 17th for former and current members of the armed forces for “Pets for Vets”.
Thanks to the generosity of Clifford Propane and Oil, Lenox Yoga, Pignatelli Electric and MWP Holdings, Berkshire Humane Society will continue offering 50 percent off adoption fees of all animals at least 6 months old through the end of November. Anyone adopting a pet in November is eligible for a drawing to win $500 in cash, courtesy of MacFarlane Office Products.
“Since October, we’ve adopted out 85 animals — 65 cats, 13 dogs, 3 rabbits and two each of birds and ferrets,” said John Perreault, Executive Director of Berkshire Humane Society. “But we still have more than 100 animals in our care, with more waiting to be surrendered to us. We appreciate our generous sponsors who are helping us encourage pet adoptions by reducing the cost and offering incentives. If you’re looking to adopt a companion animal, especially an older one, this is the time to do it,” he said.
Regardless of the cost, all animal adoptions from Berkshire Humane Society must have an approved adoption application. Visit BerkshireHumane.org to see adoptable animals or call 413-447-7878, extension 126 for dogs and 124 for other animals.
