Berkshire Humane Society is waiving adoption fees of all dogs at least one year old from Tuesday, April 22 through Sunday, April 27.
Ten shelters across the state are participating in the fee-waived event, named Big Dog Energy. “Dogs are staying longer in shelters,” said John Perreault, Executive Director at Berkshire Humane Society. “And it’s not just here in the Berkshires, it’s across the state and across the nation. We have some great dogs here for the right families and we’re hoping this event will get them in the homes they deserve.”
Berkshire Humane Society joins in the event with all four MSPCA-Angell Adoption Centers—in Boston, Methuen, Salem, and Centerville on Cape Cod—as well as Lowell Humane Society, Worcester Animal Rescue League, Boston Animal Control, Dakin Humane Society and Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control & Adoption Center.
To adopt a dog, you must fill out an application and be approved by Berkshire Humane Society staff. To download an application and see adoptable dogs, visit BerkshireHumane.org/adopt/dogs/
