November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month and to celebrate, all adoption fees of cats and dogs at least seven years old at Berkshire Humane Society are only $50 through the end of the month. Also, if you are at least 60 years old, Berkshire Humane Society will waive adoption fees of a senior pet (a $25 health certificate fee will not be waived.)
“Older cats and dogs make great pets,” said John Perreault, Executive Director of Berkshire Humane Society. “Sometimes they’re passed over for puppies and kittens, but when you adopt an older pet, what you see is what you get in regard to the pet’s size and personality. They’re usually already house-trained and are past challenging stages that younger animals go through.”
“With dogs and cats living 15 years or more, a senior pet can give you many more years of love,” said Perreault. “Give a senior animal a second chance. Stop by the shelter or check our website to see who’s available.”
