Dear Camp Humane Families,

It is with a heavy heart that I write this email to you. The management team met this week to review the next few months. We decided to cancel Camp Humane’s summer programming. There are just too many opportunities for something to go wrong and we could not risk being the reason a child or adult were to get sick. This would have been my 7th camp season to direct and I will sorely miss it.

For those of you who have paid in advance, you have two options. We will gladly issue you a refund of your payment. We understand that during this time money can be tight. The refund will be mailed in the form of a check and will take about 2 to 3 weeks to get to you.

The second option is to consider your payment a donation to Berkshire Humane Society. Your contribution would be 100 percent tax deductible and would support future humane education. Sadly, without camp, we face a $25,000 loss in income to the shelter, which is a huge blow to our budget.

Thank you for your time, support, good health, positive thoughts and everything about you. I miss all your children so much and when social distancing ends, I can’t wait to see their beautiful faces again!

All my best,
Lizzy
Camp Director

It is a day camp from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Camp Humane focuses on well-being of animals from our local homeless pets to the local wildlife around us. At its core, camp is designed to teach children the meaning of responsible pet ownership, compassion, and empathy towards all things.

The cost of camp includes…

Camp Humane T-shirt
Presentations by Animal Professionals
Admission Fees to Field Trip Location
Transportation
Arts & Craft Projects

Early Drop Off & Late Pick Up

Early Drop-Off starts at 8:00 a.m., while Late Pick-Up ends at 4:30 p.m.. Kids will enjoy being special helpers by setting up for camp or watching a children’s movie on the couch. For a week of either Early Drop-Off or Late Pick-Up, the cost is $50, while a week of both Early and Late is $100.

Payment

Tuition payment can be made with a credit card online or over the phone, or by check at the shelter. Each session has only 20 spots available. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. In order to secure a spot, you must place a $100 non-refundable deposit on that session of camp. Please note that a majority of the tuition goes to the care of the homeless animals rescued by Berkshire Humane Society. Berkshire Humane Society is a private, nonprofit organization. Please contact us for our Tax Exempt number.

Receipts will be available on the first day of camp. A Camp Humane confirmation will be sent via email.
