COME DANCE WITH YOUR DOG AND CELEBRATE NATIONAL DOG DAY!

Dance Exchange Artist Elizabeth Johnson will lead you and your leashed canine through a series of simple and fun movements designed to highlight the beauty of our pets, and the unique relationships we share with our dogs. No experience for humans or dogs needed (we just ask that your dog is comfortable being around others and around loud sounds). The event will also feature local pet vendors and the opportunity to win pet prizes.

This event is free with a suggested donation to Berkshire Humane Society. Visit our Amazon Wish list, created for this event, to learn about some of the items our kennel staff are most in need of. These donations may be purchased on Amazon and sent to the shelter (214 Barker Road, Pittsfield, MA 01201), or you may bring them to the Dog Dance.

Most needed kennel items:

Soft/Training Dog Treats – These help us train the dogs, giving them the best possible chance of finding a home with their good behavior and manners.
Interactive Treat/Feeding Dog Toys – These enrich our dogs’ day, keeping them occupied and teaching them skills. It also helps food and treats last longer.
Poop Bags – It’s a fact of life! We prefer environmentally-friendly bags. Thank you!
Paper Supplies (paper towels, toilet paper) – It may not be glamorous, but it’s one of the most needed supplies around the shelter. We use them all day, everyday.
New Futon Mattress for our Meet-and-Greet Room
Futon Covers and Protector

We are also in need of new rabbit cages for our small animals!

Raise your Bark’n’ Mary or Meowmosa to Berkshire Humane Society as we celebrate our 25th birthday at the Colonial Theatre on October 22nd. Since 1992, Berkshire Humane has sheltered and rehomed nearly 50K animals, touching the lives of countless people and their pets through its humane programming. This special event, hosted by Pet Connection’s Steve Caporizzo, celebrates 25 years of compassion. Because of compassion, anything is possible!

Champion for Animals ticketholders will enjoy a seasonal brunch by SoMa Catering, cocktails, and a silent auction while rubbing elbows with Steve Caporizzo, Chief Meteorologist for News10 and animal advocate. A special presentation on the mainstage of the beautiful Colonial Theatre will follow. Think live Pet Connection! At 2:00pm, our Animal Hero ticketholders will join for coffee, pastry, and the presentation. Special thanks to the Colonial Theatre and Steven Caporizzo for hosting our birthday party.
