BERKSHIRE HUMANE SOCIETY (BHS) is the only open-admission shelter providing refuge for homeless animals in Berkshire County. We also provide free educational programs for local school children, a pet-food bank for economically distressed pet owners, and assistance for The Elizabeth Freeman Center in providing battered and abused women with a safe haven for their pets during crisis. BHS is an independent, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. We receive no public funds from local, state or federal sources. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed under the law.
