Ken Freeberg Fund
The Ken Freeberg Fund was created to help pay some or all of the sometimes considerable costs of caring for
animals that come to the shelter with special medical, dental, or behavioral needs. The fund is named for a
long-time friend of the shelter. When Ken died in 2005 at the age of 45, friends decided to honor his memory,
his passion for life, his commitment to BHS, and his love for all animals by creating a fund designed to help
shelter animals with special needs.
If you would like to be part of Ken’s legacy and help us care for the shelter’s neediest residents we invite
you to make a donation to the shelter and to earmark the contribution for the Ken Freeberg Fund.
