November is National Adopt a Senior Pet Month. At Berkshire Humane Society (BHS), we have several “super” seniors looking to share their lives with you.
Sadly, at shelters across the country, senior dogs and cats are the most difficult animals to place. But there are so many reasons to consider a senior – or maybe two! Unlike younger dogs and cats, they are calmer and more settled, come housebroken or litter-trained, require less exercise, and love to just hang out with you. They’re an especially great match for someone who is a fellow senior, works a lot, or has mobility issues.
At BHS, our “super” seniors are all cats or dogs seven years or older. Their adoption fee is always $50, which includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, micro-chipping, and a life-time of free advice.
To meet our senior animals, stop by BHS in Pittsfield or Purradise, BHS’s Feline Adoption Center, in Great Barrington – cats only there! For more information, call BHS at 413-447-7878 or Purradise at 413-717-4244.
