Purradise to Celebrate First Annual Birthday Party

On Sunday May 29th, from 12 to 4 PM, The Berkshire Humane Society will host the first Annual Birthday Party for Purradise. Purradise is the Berkshire’s only cat adoption center, located at 301 Stockbridge Road in Great Barrington.  The theme of this Purradise birthday party is “Paint a Cat for Purradise.”  During the Purradise Birthday Party, children will be able to visit the homeless cats and then paint pictures of them. Since opening its doors a year ago, well over 125 cats have found forever homes through Purradise.  Hundreds of cats in the Berkshires, of every color and stripe, are still in need of being adopted into loving forever homes.

At the Birthday Party Event on Sunday May 29th – or Sunday June 5th if it rains –Purradise will also be offering pet tagging, free balloons for the kids, delicious food, raffles, a special tag sale, items from the Purradise Boutique, and lots more!

Purradise wants all Berkshire County residents, young and old alike, to become aware of how much joy cats can bring to their life. Cats provide warm love, healing, companionship, and teach children how to be caring and compassionate. Children can show their love for needy cats by Painting a Cat for Purradise. The artwork will be judged and turned into exciting fundraising items to benefit the shelter.  The cats are counting on a big turnout!   Come sing “Happy Purrday” to Purradise. Remember to save the date to “Paint a Cat for Purradise” on Sunday May 29th from 12 to 4PM at Purradise in Great Barrington. Purradise receives no public funding and relies completely on the support of our community. The Adoption Center is open Wednesday – Friday 12pm -6pm, Saturday 10am-4pm & Sunday 12-4pm.  The phone number is 413-717-4244.
