The 9th Annual Humane Race is coming!

www.HumaneRace.org

Please join us on Saturday, April 30th in downtown Williamstown, MA for the 9th Annual running of the Humane Race, presented by Greylock Animal Hospital. This race is for the dogs, but you don’t need one to participate…our 5K fun run and one-mile walk raises much needed funds for the wonderful Berkshire Humane Society so all are welcome!

The first 150 people to register will receive our coveted race t-shirt. If you are not one of the first 150 people to register, a few extra t-shirts will be available for purchase at the event for $15 at the Berkshire Humane Society tent at the finish line. All participating dogs will receive an adorable doggie bandana. On-line registration is up and running on our website, or print out a paper form and send it in ASAP!

Pre-registration is $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Race day registration is $20 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. All dogs are free! Packet pick up and race day registration begins at 8:30 AM in front of theBrowns at 16 Water Street on race day (with the run/walk starting at 10 AM) or take advantage of early packet pick up from 4 – 6 PM on Friday, April 29th in the same location.

And how’s this for exciting…been dreaming of an iPad 2? Raise $500 or more in pledges for the Humane Race and you’ll be eligible to win one! If you raise $500 you’ll receive 5 entries for our drawing, and for each additional $100 you’ll receive another entry! Pledge forms are available on our website, so get cracking…remember, it’s all for the critters!

Also new this year, many Williamstown merchants have agreed to donate 5% of their proceeds to the BHS from any sale made on race day to a participant or spectator of the Humane Race! So plan on doing a little shopping while you’re in town to thank our merchants for their support! A full list of participating stores is on our website. And if you can’t bring your dog into the store, we’ll be providing pet sitting services in a few locations around downtown for your convenience.

And just for the kids, Water Street Books will host a reading of the adorable children’s book, “Fancy Nancy and the Posh Puppy” at 9 AM on race day. Come check in or register early and then enjoy the reading, an arts and crafts project and yummy treats!

Enjoy food, prizes, music and more at our finish line festivities! Join in the fun and games with your dog by entering our “Musical Sits” or “Fastest Biscuit Eater” contests! Not to be missed fun for the whole family!
